What is a Bookkeeper?
A Bookkeeper is a professional person responsible for accurately collecting, collating and recording the financial transactions of a business.
A modern Bookkeeper can also go beyond the basics of simply recording financial transactions. They are now often responsible for such things as the calculation of asset depreciation and maintaining asset registers, the calculation and production of reports and financial statements, such as Profit & Loss Accounts and Balance Sheets, the computation and administration of Payroll and the computation and completion of personal Self Assessment Tax Returns.
